Chef Peng Looi and Managing Partner, Pabs S. Sembillo own Asiatique restaurant and catering. Asiatique was recognized in the spring 2005 issue of Bon Appetit as one of the top 125 restaurants in the United States. The Wine Enthusiast magazine awarded Asiatique the 2005 and 2006 Restaurant Award of Distinction. Asiatique's wine list won the Wine Spectator magazine Award of Excellence in 2004 and 2006. Chef Looi has appeared three times by invitation to cook at the esteemed James Beard House in New York City and he received a special master chef invitation to participate in the 2006 World Gourmet Summit in Las Vegas. In 2007 Chef Looi became a World Association of Chefs' Societies (WACS) approved culinary judge. Chef Looi has been named a guest chef for the 2007 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. Chef Looi and Asiatique support the Louisville community by participating in numerous fundraising events.
